The Bachglotz [1] is the loaner car that will replace the Ferndale in My Winter Car. It is already modeled and implemented in the game.
Appearance[]
It is confirmed to be a 2-door (likely hardtop) [2] American car from the 1960s [3], with a 3 speed automatic transmission [4] (with a manual mode) [5], and a V8 engine. [6] It is in stock (not customized) condition [7] and the developer has described it to be "a pretty fun car to throw around in the winter time". The Bachglotz could have a custom color which will not be matte. [8] The color of the car is currently red, but the developer wants to change it. [9] It is also fitted with winter tires - possibly with cheap rims. [10]
The Bachglotz is also confirmed to be road legal [11] and runs well. [12] It will just have some partial rust and "life" according to the developer. [13]
Comparison[]
The developer states he does not want the car to have a similar feeling to the Ferndale. [14] This includes a hacked up suspension and engine so it does not feel like the Ferndale. [15] The car is also larger than the Ferndale, [16] heavier, [17] while also having a worse turning radius than the Ferndale. [18] This also includes a large bonnet and boot. [19] According to the developer, the car has to be way less powerful then the Ferndale. [20] Unlike the Ferndale in My Summer Car, the automatic transmission in the Bachglotz now forces the correct gear. First and second gear also now allow "freewheeling". [21]
The developer also said that while the model of the car itself has not been used in NASCAR, the brand of the car has been. [22] He stated that the car has to exist in Finland, popular or not. [23] He also wants the car to be a reasonable choice during the Finnish winter in the 90s. [24]
