Choosing the right clothing (
: vaatetus) for the weather is a important part of the gameplay in My Winter Car. The clothing is owned by the player in the beginning of the game. [1] The player has 3 different sets of clothes to choose from; one for indoors, one for mild freeze and one for severe freeze. [2]
It's important to choose the right clothes to manage the player character's temperature: having too light clothing will cause the player's temperature to drop which will eventually lead to him dying of hypothermia, but having too heavy clothing for the weather conditions will cause him to sweat, which will cause the temperature bar to decrease faster than normal. [3]
Clothing sets are a physical item which can be picked up and carried when not in use. [4] [5] The feature to buy replacement sets of clothing may be added if the player loses his clothes. [6] Clothing can be taken off anywhere such as vehicles. [7]
According to the developer, in the worse case scenario, the player can die from 10-15 minutes of hyperthermia depending on clothing and weather. [8]
