The Corris Rivett is the buildable project car in My Winter Car. It is based off of the 1973-1975 Ford Taunus TC1. The Rivett is a good reliable vehicle as long the parts are in good condition, but since there is no block heater for it, the player may not be able to drive it all the time. [3]

Obtaining the car[]

Unlike the Satsuma AMP from My Summer Car, the player does not own the Rivett from the start and must instead buy it. The starting price of the Rivett will likely cost around 500 mk to buy. [4] When the player first buy's the car, it will be bare, disassembled frame with 10-12 random loose parts [5], but the parts that it spawns with could be in bad condition as the conditions of the parts is randomized as well. [6]

It's up to the player to obtain the rest of the parts yourself by either buying them from various sources such as Fleetari's shop, the flea market, used parts from magazine listings, or finding them on the map. This makes the Rivett a lot more complicated to assemble than the Satsuma, due to the increased complexity of the car assembly and the fact the car and all of it's parts have to be purchased separately and in working condition.

Interior

The Corris Rivett is a 2-door sedan, large heavy car with low-revving-high torque engine. [7] Not much is known about the final exterior of the car, as it has not been revealed yet. The Rivett is a higher trim car, being a factory sport, luxury, and GT version due to it's larger engine. [8] The Rivett's manufacturing year is randomized. [9] The color of the car is also randomized which like in My Summer Car, the color can be changed by Fleetari. [10]

The interior color can be changed by changing the panels, but the developer also said that he could add a feature to spray paint to change it's color. [11]

Trims & VIN[]

There will be 3-4 different main trim levels the Rivett can spawn in. [12] The trim is determined upon starting the game, which you never know what your going to get. [13] There will be a factory trim (which the developer stated on it by saying it can differ more or less [14]), a poverty spec [15], and a sport/luxury package. [15]

The sport package will feature many of the extra gauges from the factory. [16]

There will also be an upgrade trim level that the player can upgrade the Rivett to similar to how the Satsuma can be upgraded to the Satsuma GT in My Summer Car. The upgrade trim will include a combination of engine, interior, exterior, suspension (like stiffer springs) parts, rims and paintjob according to the developer. [17] There will also be a special rocker cover with the Rivett's brand name like the GT rocker cover in the Satsuma GT. [18]

The Rivett will have multiple different trim levels you can build it to, but it is not known yet what types of parts will be different between the trim levels. However, so far, different trims can determine mechanical things such as gear ratios, rear differential, if it has limited slip differential or not, springs and shocks, power assisted or manual brakes, etc. [19] One trim will at least include a special paint job, engine tune up, and rims according to the developer [20], which could possibly be the upgrade trim like the GT version of the Satsuma. There are also different color and material types for the interior color depending on the trim level, which there is currently are 3 different interior colors and 20 different factory exterior colors it can spawn in. [21] [22] Wheels are also different depending on the trim. [23]

The player can restore it to the Rivett's original factory trim level (which is random on every save) by decoding the VIN code. [24] The VIN will determine the dealer options on the Rivett. [25] The player can also build the Rivett to match it's original factory equipment, which it can be registered as a "museum vehicle" [26], if it is a older model. [27] There are also various dealer options that can be purchased for the car. [28] In the first teaser video, the Rivett can be seen with a beige interior with a wood trim on the dashboard.

The trims will be fully designed by the developer. [29]

Performance and specs[]

Rivett engine teaser

Corris Rivett's engine block and cylinder head.

The Rivett will have a 2.0l OHC inline 4 engine. [30] The engine is based off of the Ford Pinto OHC engine which will have a single barrel carburetor from stock. [31] The engine will have 2 valves per cylinder [32] which cylinders have a animation. [33] It has a 4 link rear suspension and it is rear wheel drive. The exact performance figures of the car are not known yet, but the engine can be upgraded with various parts, such as carburetors, camshafts, and others. The suspension can be raised or lowered by swapping the coil springs. [34] The engine will make 98 or 97 hp [35] @ 5500rpm and 155nm @ 3700rpm from stock, being based off the Pinto TL20H high compression engine.

In its stock engine tune, the Rivett usually doesn't have problems with over-revving even at full throttle, however, once the player starts tuning it, there's a risk of over-revving. [36][37] With upgrading the engine however, the red line for the Rivett can be extended. [38] The player can choose between either a 4-speed manual gearbox or a 3-speed automatic gearbox for the car. [39] The developer states the Rivett's grip is like the Ferndale on grass, which means it has very little to no grip off-road. [40]

The Rivett is confirmed to have engine damage while driving when the engine is cold. This is likely because the engine is not lubricated enough. [41]

1975 Ford Taunus TC1 2-door in real life

The Rivett's gauge cluster features a speedometer that reads up to 220 km/h, a fuel gauge, a engine temperature gauge, and a tachometer reading up to 7000 RPM. The gauge cluster also has 5 additional warning lights including a left/right turn signal indicator, a oil pressure warning light, the high beams indicator light, and a battery charge warning light. The gauge cluster appears to have orange gauge lighting, with orange colored needles.

  • 10-12 random parts on the Rivett when starting the game. [5]
  • The Rivett has a usable heater with 3 controls: the heater direction, the blower strength, and (likely) the heater temperature.
  • Rear window heater to keep frost away [42]
  • Simulated front anti-roll bar. [43]
  • Fuel tank door [44]

The Rivett is the only car that can be used to participate in the rally sprint race or the ice track race.

Trivia[]

  • The tachometer on the Rivett's dashboard is fixed, meaning the player can't swap it for a clock gauge. [45]
  • The manufacturer name is known from a My Summer Car rally brand.
  • The engine was originally based off the Pinto TL16H (which gives out 71hp and 118nm from stock), but was changed to be a 2.0l Pinto engine before the game's release.
  • The developer stated that maximum horsepower does not really matter unless you are ice racing as the player can't use it in anyway else. [46]
