The Sorbett is a 5-door hatchback car owned by the player from the beginning of the game, which will serve as the player's reliable daily mode of transportation while he is building the Rivett.
Appearance[]
The Sorbett is a 1980s 5-door European hatchback based on the Talbot 1510. Not much is known about its appearance as its exterior has not yet been revealed. It has a light metallic blue exterior color and a blue colored interior. The developer has described the Sorbett as being in pretty good condition and not having too much rust as it is only a 10-15 year old car by the events of the game.
Performance and specs[]
The Sorbett has a 4-cylinder inline engine and a front-wheel drive 5-speed manual transmission. The Sorbett's engine makes 72hp and 130nm of torque, indicating that it's based on the Talbot 1510's 1.6l engine specification.
Features[]
The Sorbett features:
- Foldable rear seats
- Pretty well-sized trunk
- CD player and marker lights, if you have imported your save from My Summer Car and had those parts unlocked on your save
- Aftermarket fuel economy gauge
- Block heater to help start the engine in very cold conditions by warming up the engine block and the oil.
- Rear window heater
- Fuel tank door
- Usable interior heater
While describing the car, the developer said "While it has its character, as ALL old cars do, I'd still say it is boring as heck. :D". He has also said that "poverty spec" is the most accurate assessment of the car's equipment level.
The Sorbett is generally a reliable car and does not need any engine maintenance, however it may struggle to start during very cold weather conditions, and the battery can run flat [1] (likely when cranking for too long or over time in cold weather conditions). Using the equipped block heater to pre-heat the engine block and oil can help to start the engine easier and prevent the battery from dying from cranking the car for too long.
Appearance[]
The Sorbett's gauge cluster is fairly plain. It has an engine temperature gauge, a clock (no tachometer), a speedometer that reads up to 200 km/h (though it is highly unlikely the car is capable of achieving this speed), and a fuel gauge. Above the gauges, there is a row of warning lights that appear to be (from left to right): An oil pressure warning light, a light bulb symbol (likely headlights), a turn signal indicator, a high beam lights indicator, a battery indicator light, a low fuel warning light, and a high engine temperature warning light. The gauges have beige lighting, with white colored needles. There is also a 5-digit odometer, although it doesn't seem to have a trip odometer.
Trivia[]
- The Sorbett's handbrake only locks one of it's rear wheels due to a bug which the developer can't fix. [2]
- The Sorbett is based on the Talbot 1510 because the developer's family owned one when he was young. [3]
